Event sound systems for speeches, music and bands

The aim is simple: speech that carries, music that is even enough for the room, and a mix the audience can follow. The system is chosen for the venue and the programme, then checked on the day.

What changes the recommendation

A ballroom speech, a hotel dinner with playback, and a band on a temporary stage are three different jobs. Guest count tells us the scale. Indoor or outdoor tells us how the sound will leave the speakers. A low ceiling and a long garden are not planned the same way.

We ask for those facts before naming a setup. If you already used the speaker planner, send the result. It estimates point-source coverage and a line-array box count. The product photos on the homepage are manufacturer references.

Speech and playback

  • ✓Handheld and lapel-style wireless microphones for hosts and speakers
  • ✓Music playback from the device you are already using
  • ✓A front-of-house position where the operator can hear the room
  • ✓Coverage aimed at the seated or standing audience, not only at the stage

When a band is on the bill

A band needs inputs for vocals and instruments, monitors so the players can hear themselves, and time to line-check before guests arrive. That work is described on the live-band PA page. If the night is speeches plus a short set, say so. The quote should include both, not only the larger one.

What we need from you

You do not need a technical drawing. The useful message is the date, the hall or outdoor site, roughly how many guests, and whether people are mostly listening to speech, recorded music, or a live band. If the venue has a power limit or a loading dock with a time slot, include that.

What to send for a quote

For a sound enquiry, start with the same details we ask on the contact page.

  • ✓Event date and start/end time
  • ✓Venue name and location (indoor or outdoor)
  • ✓Type of event and expected guests
  • ✓Sound, lighting, live band or LED screen needs
  • ✓Results from our planning tools, if you used them

If you already know them, also say when the room can be loaded in, whether the programme is speeches, music, a live band or a mix, and whether a screen is part of the show.

Questions

Is a speech system the same as a band system?
No. Speeches need intelligible microphones and even coverage. A band also needs a front-of-house mix, monitors and more inputs. Tell us which programme you have so the quote matches it.
Do the speaker-planner numbers mean you will bring that exact rig?
No. The speaker planner is a coverage and line-array estimate. The quote says what we propose for the venue after we have the date, the room and the programme.
Can you work outdoors?
Ask us. Outdoor distance and weather change the plan, so the enquiry needs to say the venue is outdoors. We confirm in the quote whether that date and site can be covered.

Send the date and the room

We will tell you what we would bring for that programme, and the quote will include transport for that venue.
